I'm not sure what setting in Norton 360 might eliminate your constant pop-ups but the following support articles might be helpful, depending on whether your pop-ups about a safe wideinecmd.dll are displayed while MS Edge is trying to download the file or whether they appear when wideinecmd.dll is launched. Once Microsoft has fixed the problem in MS Edge you could go back to your preferred settings. This wouldn't stop detailed logging for wideinecmd.dll and other safe files in your Norton security history but it might stop your pop-ups. I might be wrong, but if the pop-ups in your system tray are bothering you it's possible that your Norton settings can be adjusted so that pop-ups are only displayed for suspicious/unproven files. Do I need to take action or will Microsoft Edge and Norton eventually work this out? It's just annoying to see the Norton window slide in telling me widevinecdm.dll is safe. In History, it states the following: Download Insight analyzed widevinecdm.dll. Approximately every ten to fifteen minutes over the course of the last 1.5 hours, a notice from Norton pops in from the bottom righthand corner of the screen concerning the file widevinecdm.dll.
